Review Questions

1) Draw and label a picture of the 4 main layers of the Earth. The four layers are: the Crust, the Mantle, The Outer Core and the Inner Core. Attempt to make the layer thickness as accurate as possible.
2) What is the Lithosphere and where is it found?
3) What are 2 ways geologists learn about the layers of the Earth?
4) What is the difference between the oceanic and continental crust?
5) List two reasons that scientists know that the outer core is liquid.
6) Describe the properties of each of these parts of the Earth's interior: lithosphere, mantle, and core. What are they made of How hot are they? What are a few of their physical properties?
7) What is the difference between conduction and convection?
